All display advertising in The State News is quoted as a net per column inch rate. Our open rate is available to all advertisers on a local, regional and national level. Contract rates are available to those advertisers who wish to commit to a higher level of advertising or longer term agreement.
The rates on this page apply to the retail or "news" portion of the paper. Advertisers wishing to file a classified should visit our classified section.

Local Bulk Contract
A bulk contract allows you to advertise at a lower column-inch rate in return for committing to a certain number of inches over the course of a year. These inches may be used however and whenever you'd like, as long as the number you commit to is fulfilled by the time your contract expires.

Local Frequency Contract
A frequency contract allows you to advertise at a lower column-inch rate in return for committing to a particular number of inches per week. Frequency contracts are perfect for consistent exposure and building strong brand images. They also offer our lowest rates.
Frequency contracts require running in 22 or 44 consecutive publishing weeks.

Color
If you want to add color to your advertisement, you have the option of choosing spot color or process color. Spot color allows you to add one or two colors to your ad in addition to greyscale. Process color allows you to use all colors.

Deadlines
Copy received after deadline will not be guaranteed a proof. Late copy will be assessed a $25 fee.

These are calculations for advertisement column widths only. For example, to run an ad that is 3x5, your ad would measure 5.41" by 5".
